Results
The project intends to result in contributing to the protection of the environment of the cross border area by proposing an overall approach in the water management in two Municipalities of the egibible area. The protection of the ecosystems of these two areas will arise from interventions in the fields of three axis; 1.Irrigation, 2.Sewage, 3.Water supply.
The expected results of the project are: 1
1. Improvement of the irrigation water management in Almopia,
2. Reduction of the polution levels from pesticides in Almopia
3. Increase of the awareness of the farmers of Almopia and Negotino for a sustainable water management and reduction of the water pollution
4. Application of an eco-friendly material approach in the construction of irrigation infrastructrure,
5. Protection of the water course of “Timjanicka reka” and the wider environment (Vardar river and protected area Orlovo Brdo),
6. A mature project for the further protection of the environment of Negotino,
7. Development of original scientific knowledge in the field of protection of biodiversity and sewage pollution,
8. Increase of awareness of the public for sewage pollution,
9. Improvement of the sewage system maintenance in Negotino,
10. Two sites promoted as water recreation spots in Almopia,
11. A mature proposal for the replacement of water supply system for the reduction of water loss in Almopia,
12. Improvement of the function of the water drillings in Almopia and Negotino,
13. Increase of awareness for the importance of the drinking water,
14. Increase of the networking of institutions for the protection of water,
15. Motivation of the creativity of the youngest population for water creations.
The general expected result is the sustainable management of the ecosystems of the cross border areas through the protection of the water resources and the reduction of the human environmental footprint.
